2018 C-LAB Summer Festival

The 18th-century German great litterateur, Friedrich von Schiller said, “Man only plays when he is in the fullest sense of the word a human being, and he is only fully a human being when he plays.” Donald W. Winnicott, a psychologist active in the 20th century, announced: “cultural experience begins with creative living first manifested as play.”

Playing is never a time-wasting activity. It is a way to free our spirit, a media to demonstrate mankind’s unlimited creativity.

2018 C-LAB Summer Festival wants to bring out everyone's courage, imagination and creativity via "playing." We would like to occupy this once heavily-guarded and isolated Air Force Headquarter and transfer it into an art playground for age 0 to 99.

Play Arts, Play-to-Gather. There is going to be a festival for art, life, space, body and game. Gathering the energy of arts and cultural from every place in Taiwan and presenting unique as well as various perspectives, we invite all people to join us, to play around every corner in TAF, from Sandpit Archaeologist, Dance Party, Barter Market, collaborative creation, live streaming, circus, cinema and summer night concert. Hope every visitor can taste the subtle of art, life, self and the city, and bring a new life vitality.
